A Curse of Two Isles

Now available on Kindle

Having been taken under the wing of an inspirational Jesuit priest when he was a rebellious teenager, Jed returns home from the prestigious Caltech in California, a decade later and now a high-flying volcanologist.

He is much more than the product of a Catholic home and an abusive Irish Church, but his rapid rise through the academic ranks is tarnished by one weakness – beautiful women.

With the love of his life, Debbie, about to be re-married, Jed escapes on a sabbatical to the volcanic archipelago of Tristan da Cunha, the world’s most remote inhabited community.

Jed stumbles across a secret project that’s gone horribly wrong. The Inaccessible Project irrevocably changes his life, his family’s future, British Military Intelligence and the Cold War, right up to the present world of global terrorism, WMDs and Pariah states.

Things culminate at an isolated mausoleum in Scotland, on the forbidden Isle of Rùm, where a professor and her technician are pawns in the politics of some familiar politicians of pre-Brexit Britain.

A little taster

Gerard felt something damp at the back of his neck. He turned his head and winced in pain.

He saw light coming in through the window, although it was beginning to fade. Then he remembered.

He was in the Papadil Lodge on the Forbidden Isle of Rùm and tied to a bed. The mattress smelt fusty and damp, but the room was warm and he heard the crackle of firewood. He was covered by his sleeping bag but underneath he was naked.

That’s for standing me up. You’re the first man who has ever done that to me.’

It was the beautiful Madeleine Destivelle, alias Genevieve Dubois, one of Britain’s top agents.
